Gov. Evers announced a statewide extension of the mask mandate as the vaccine continues to roll out

Madison, Wisconsin – Governor Tony Evers issues a new Public Health Order extending Wisconsin statewide for another two months.

The governor announced this during a press briefing on Friday alongside the Department of Health Services.

“People, I’ve said it before and I’m sure I’ll say it many times, many times, for the vaccine to do its work in the coming months, we have to continue working together to stop the spread of COVID-19 today,” Evers said.

The current order requiring the covering of the face across the state is set to expire next week. The governor said that his new order would extend this condition for another 60 days as the state works to distribute vaccines.

Details of the new order are expected to be announced later on Friday.
