Nier: Automata is a very strange game, with multiple „endings” necessary to see its final ending and some of its content repeated from a different character’s perspective. Nier: Automata’s main spoilers to follow!

Once you unlock the ending „E” in Nier: Automata, you are presented with an end credits sequence that sees other players saving data that helps you in the retro shooter sequence to defeat the script itself. Completing this gives you the opportunity to sacrifice your saved data – and thus erase all of your progress – in order to give another player a chance to beat the game as well. This is where Twitter user Lance McDonald comes in.

MacDonald has not fully explained the inputs you need to activate the cheat, but he promises a full video soon. In the teaser above, it is shown that you must kill the first game boss, who is at the end of the action sequence required to unlock the game. After that, he moves to the back of the ring, makes some jumps, and is then given the option to sacrifice his saved data without playing the rest of the game.
